Avalanche Skills Training | Crevasse and Rope Rescue

It is important to me to show others how to travel safely in the mountains so I enjoy teaching Avalanche Skills Training (AST) courses based out of Banff and Canmore. Are you going to be heading into the backcountry this winter? You might consider signing up for a certified Avalanche Skills Training (AST) course.

Crevasse and Rope Rescue

Crevasse Rescue/Glacier Travel:
If you are planning on travelling on the glaciers, summer or winter, then you need to know how to rope-up and perform crevasse rescue. Unfortunately many people die in crevasses either because they don't know when to have the rope on or because their group is not proficient in crevasse rescue techniques.

I teach crevasse rescue courses year round. The course can be tailored to your needs -

  • 1-day for folks wanting to refresh/upgrade their skills.
  • 2-days for those who are new to glacier travel and rope rescue techniques.

Rope Rescue:

If you do a lot of multipitch rock or ice climbing then you might want to consider learning how to rescue your partner if something goes wrong. This 1-day course teaches you everything you need to know about getting you and your partner out of trouble - escaping the belay, raising, lowering, tandem rapelling.

Contact me to arrange a course and get a quote. Prices start at $250 per person per day with a minimum group size of 2 and max of 6.
